Війни залишають катастрофічні нематеріальні наслідки для суспільства – втрачається почуття безпеки, пошкоджуються соціальні зв’язки, руйнуються звичаї й традиції, відчуття ідентичності та просторової належності. Сучасні архітектори й урбаністи шукають концепцій ревіталізації (повернення до життя) зруйнованого і втраченого, які характеризуються й ґрунтуються на вимогах стійкого (сталого) розвитку. Це дослідження актуалізує питання щодо характеристик та методів проектування й планування в контексті нематеріального, забезпечення нових цінностей для зруйнованих міст і територій, а також просторового майбутнього України.
