Розглянуто питання архітектурно-розпланувальної організації сучасного притулку для домашніх безпритульних тварин. Подана коротка історія появи притулків для тварин, а також подані практичні рекомендації щодо планування, функціонального наповнення, розташування та варіанти матеріалів, які можна використовувати при будівництві таких закладів. Висвітлені результати проведеного соціологічного опитування дають змогу побачити, які аспекти притулку є важливими для майбутніх відвідувачів та потенційних усиновлювачів, скільки людей готові взяти тваринку з притулку, а також на що варто звертати увагу при проєктуванні притулку для домашніх тварин. Подані практичні рекомендації можуть допомогти як при проєктуванні нового, так і при реорганізаціїї вже існуючої споруди.
